Frequently Asked Questions

 👪FAQ for Parents

1. What makes Vector Minds different?

At Vector Minds, we go beyond memorisation. We help students truly understand what they’re learning — building clarity, confidence, and direction that lead to lasting results.

2. Do you offer both online and in-person tutoring?

Yes. We offer flexible online lessons Australia-wide and in-person sessions in SE suburbs of Victoria for students who prefer face-to-face guidance.

3. Which subjects do you cover?

We offer tutoring in:

· Mathematics – KG to Year 12

· English – KG to Year 8

· Science – Year 7 to 10, and VCE Physics

· Media – VCE Media

· Exam Preparation – NAPLAN, ICAS, SEAL, and JMSS Selective Exam

4. How do you personalise lessons for each student?

We start with a short diagnostic or chat to understand strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Lessons are then tailored with custom worksheets, examples, and pacing suited to each learner.

5. How long is each session?

Our lesson lengths are thoughtfully designed for each stage of learning:

· Primary (Prep – Year 6): 60 minutes

· Secondary (Years 7 – 10): 60 to 90 minutes

· Senior (Years 11 – 12 / VCE, QCE, HSC, WACE): 90 to 120 minutes

We’re happy to adjust session lengths to suit a student’s age, focus level, or exam goals — ensuring every minute is productive and personalized.

6. Do you give homework or practice work?

Yes — students receive targeted practice sheets to reinforce what’s covered in class. We’re flexible — if a student prefers practising from their school books instead, that’s perfectly fine too.

7. How do you track progress?

We use mini-assessments, feedback, and visible growth tracking. Parents receive updates regularly, so you know how your child is improving.

8. Can I speak directly with the tutor about my child’s progress?

Of course! We value parent partnership and encourage open communication to support each student’s journey.

9. Can you use my child's school book to teach?

Absolutely. This is taken care of.

1. What’s it like to have a lesson at Vector Minds?

It’s friendly, interactive, and designed just for you. We explain every topic in simple steps and make sure you actually get it before moving on.

2. Do I have to be good at maths to join?

Not at all! You just need curiosity and a willingness to learn. We’ll help you build confidence from any level.
